This informal networking session is as simple as an established business or community leader (the Connector) having a cup of coffee and a chat with a recent graduate or newcomer (the Connectee) and 
offering three introductions to their network.

The connector program helps attract and retain talent and engage employers in the community around them.

Along with this engagement, the Northern Connector Program has many other benefits including:

• Creating a more welcoming and diverse community.

The Northern Connector Program is an initiative of the Truro/Colchester Partnership for Economic Prosperity, Cumberland Business Connector, and Pictou County Regional Enterprise Network, and is a member of the National Connector Program. 

The Northern Connector Program is a formalized networking initiative funded through the Department of Labour and Advanced Education to help broaden networks through facilitating one-on-one meetings for recent graduates and newcomers with established business leaders who work in the same field. It is a simple yet highly effective referral process that helps local businesses and organizations connect with talented individuals who want to build a career and settle successfully in our community.

The Northern Connector Program partners with Nova Scotia Works, local Chambers of Commerce, immigration settlement service providers, the Department of Community Services, African Nova Scotia Affairs, universities and colleges, business and community development organizations, municipal units, and individual business owners.
